first post

hello,

i've decided to start a poker blog. mainly because i want a place to log down all the notes and lessons i'm picking up as i continue to play and study this game.

2 months ago i made what i told myself would be my very last deposit onto pokerstars: i saw no point in continuing to engage in a pursuit where i was losing money at such a slow rate (i later discovered that even if i were a winning player i'd probably be winning at an equally slow rate) that it might have seemed i was winning. but this is the central beauty of poker and why there is so much money in this game... its because people who suck at it don't believe that they suck at it.

in any case, back then i decided to stop trying to figure out poker for myself and to first obtain some help and knowledge from poker forums and books. the last month has seen a great leap in my approach to the game as well as the results i was experiencing. i am now a.... marginal winner over 30k hands! lol, what an achievement, right?

now i realise that there were so many things about the game i didn't understand back then, and that i still don't understand right now.

anyway, this blog will serve as a platform for me to post hand histories, talk about poker, life and whatever other shit in general la.

OK ending my first post with a gayhand i played last week. no wisdom to extract out of this hand, i was just in the right place at the right time but i guess it shows how awesome the power of deception is. easy hand cos we're definitely stacking villian here... at most he puts us on some set/straight combo, no way he'd fold the nut straight to an unlikely full house. poor guy!
